The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national level aptitude test organazed by XLRI Jamshedpur .This test is conducted by the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admission in XLRI and other Xavier management institutes of India. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING IN XAT 2014-2015











  • A candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university or a deemed university.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree and awaiting results can also apply.
  • Those final year students, who can submit their final marks by June 10, 2015, can also apply

  • Examination pattern for XAT 2014 -2015 



    Type of exam:                     XAT 2014- 2015 will be hand written aptitude test .
    Total section :                     2 section . I is aptitude test , II is essay writing.
     Total number of Question:  120, 1 essay
     Total Time Duration:          3 hours or 180 minutes. 2 hours 20 minutes for section I, 40 minutes                                             for section II
     correct attempt:                  4 marks for each correct answer
     Incorrect attempt-:              negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer


    XAT Syllabus 2015


    • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (Math)- Number system, geometry, trigonometry,probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages,profit and loss,quadratic and linear equations,etc.

    • Verbal Reasoning and Logical Ability (English) -Verbal ability and Reasoning test design to test student ability of identify patterns or relationships between groups of sentences and words.Reading Comprehension to test the ability to read and understand text .to test the ability to comprehend text and influenced by their traits and make inferences.

    • Decision Making - Decision making questions involve a given situation which has some problem to be solved; you need to understand the situation and among the options, select the best alternative that should be adopted.

    • General Awareness-The general awareness section had a good mix of questions on topics ranging from business economics (national and international), government, sports, awards and famous personalities.

    • Essay Writing- Given topic should not exceed more than 200 words


    XAT 2015 Important Date

     Registration Date - 12th August 2014 -22nd  November 2014.

    Last date to change test city - 26th November, 2014

    Downloading of admit cards- 18th December - 31st December, 2014

    Date of Exam- 4th January, 2015

    Test Timings-10:30 am - 1:30 pm
