Common Admissions Test (CAT)

CAT- Common Admissions Test is most popular MBA entrance  exam in India. CAT exam is gateway to admission in top management collage in India. IIM's are top management collages of India all six IIM's only consider CAT exam result for admission.CAT enterance exam is used to shortlist applicant for admission to the top six management collages IIMs- IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow , IIM Indore, and IIM Kozhikode. CAT scores can also help to get admission to get admission in other 102 non IIM collages.


ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING IN CAT 2014

1. Applicant of general category  should be graduate with 50% marks of equivalent CGPA.

2. Applicant of  SC,ST, DA, PWD  should be graduate with 45% marks of equivalent CGPA.

3. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree or equivalent examination and those student who are waiting for degree result can also apply .

Examination pattern for CAT 2014 
 Type of exam- CAT 2014 will be a computer base  aptitude test .

Total number of Question - 120

Total Time Duration - 2 hours 50 minutes or 170 minutes

correct attempt- 3 marks for each correct answer 

Incorrect attempt- negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer

  • Verbal ability and Reasoning- Verbal ability and Reasoning test design to test student ability of identify patterns or relationships between groups of sentences and words.

  • Reading Comprehension-Reading Comprehension to test the ability to read and understand text .to test the ability to comprehend text and influenced by their traits and make inferences.

  • Quantitative Skills-Number system, geometry, trigonometry,probability, permutation combination, algebra, mensuration, time and work, averages, percentages,profit and loss,quadratic and linear equations,etc.

  • Data Interpretation-Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, table, graphs, venn diagram, chart and etc.

  • Logical Reasoning- Logical Reasoning question to check the applicant ability to ratiocinate and evaluate problems. like solve clock, calendars binary logic, seating arrangement, blood relation and other logical sequence.


CAT 2014 Important Date

 Registration Date - 06th August 2014 - 30th September 2014

Test Dates - 16th and 22nd November 2014, two sessions on each day

Declaration of Result:- 03rd Week of December 2014
